I'm Back!

It has been awhile since I have done anything with this site. I took time off and concentrated on a few other aspects of my life. And I have decided to get back into photography and hopefully, some meaningful writing. On Saturday September 1st, I was lucky to hit a gold mine of hot rods, street rods and muscle cars on display at Sturdevants in Sioux Falls, so having my camera with me I took the opportunity to snap some pictures of the beautifully restored and customized crates on display. Rosenboom, Dobmeier and Peters win sprint features at the 2005 Jay Egge/Graves Memorial Races

The 2005 edition of the Jay Egge Memorial Races at Huset's had an added $10,000 bonus for any driver that could win both 410 Outlaw features courtesy of the Graves family. After winning the first feature, Mark Dobmeier started last (19th) and made it up to 5th place before Doug Clark's checkers flew over Jake Peters in the second event. Jody Rosenboom broke a string of bad luck to take a convincing win in the 360 main event. MORE

Drost Scores Exciting Feature Win On Memorial Day

Jesse Drost scored a NMRA 360 feature win over Micah Schliemann to close the Memorial Day events at Huset's. MORE

17 Year Old Jordan Martens First Huset's Win

Jordan Martens, who is all of seventeen years old won his first NMRA 360 sprint feature at Huset's on May 29th. MORE

Zomer Zooms To His First 410 Win

Dusty Zomer won his first 410 Outlaw sprint car race May 22nd at Huset's Speedway MORE

Logan jumped to the lead at Doug's green with Dobmeier and Zomer giving chase. The top three got strung out at 10 car length intervals running the high and middle grooves on a very smooth Huset's track. With 3 laps to go, Dobmeier starts smoking and pulls in, one lap later Zomer lost his engine going into turn 1 bringing out the yellow, they would pack it up and leave at the intermission. Some close racing ensued on the green-white-checker finish between Logan and IRA visitor Kertscher MORE .

Peters Wins 2004 North vs. South Shootout

The 2004 edition of the North-South Challenge at Park Jefferson Speedway was the best one I have attended yet with lots of clean racing, no major wipe outs and no rides in the ambulance. The temperature was ideal but those pesky winds were back blowing across the track from right to left (at least to us in the grandstands), although not as intense as in past years. The show ran smoothly and was over around 10:30. Thanks to the ESTS and NMRA crews for another great show! MORE
